Winter Resilience: Grounding the Body for the Season Ahead
Program Description
Winter Resilience: Grounding the Body for the Season Ahead
As winter settles over the valley, our bodies naturally crave warmth, grounding, and steadiness. This month’s therapeutic Kaiut session is designed to support you through the colder season with gentle joint mobility, nervous-system calming, and deep restorative stillness.
Slow, accessible postures help create space in stiff areas, nourish circulation, and ease the tension that winter often brings. Whether you’re recovering from injury, feeling stressed, or simply wanting to feel more at home in your body, this class offers a supportive environment to soften, unwind, and reset.
In this session, we’ll explore:
- Grounding postures for winter stability
- Nervous-system unwinding and vagus-nerve calming
- Gentle joint mobility for stiff necks, shoulders, hips, and spine
- Therapeutic stillness to restore balance and inner warmth
A safe, inclusive space for all bodies and all levels. Your body is built for resilience. Come discover the warmth, space, and quiet power within.

Alex Lambro
Alex has over 30+ years experience in the health and fitness industry, and as a wellness professional loves sharing the transformational opportunities a daily yoga practice has had in her own life. Alex felt compelled to complete her first teacher training in 2008 in the Iyengar method when asked to teach at Yoga for the People. As an avid multi-sport enthusiast, her initial introduction to yoga began in 1991 due to a ski injury which impacted her well being and her ability to get back out skiing competitively. With this physical challenge a lifestyle change was in order and yoga was the key that ensured her ability to heal and to regain movements lost by trauma. Yoga has allowed her to find inner joy while gaining a deep understanding of how all traumas can affect the body, mind and spirit leading her to find ways to transform mentally and physically. With 35 years of practice in the Iyengar method, and 17 years of practice in the Kaiut method, Alex has been delighted in the evolution of her own experience in the world of yoga.
