A Special Community Fundraiser for CB State of Mind
When life feels overwhelming, one of the most powerful things we can do is take refuge in our breath, our bodies, our practice, and in one another.
Join Monica Mesa Dasi for a heartfelt evening of yoga, breathwork, mantra, community, and healing. Through simple breath practices, yoga as body prayer, heart-opening movement, accessible inversion options, and guided reflection, you’ll explore how shifting your body can help shift your perspective, energy, and inner state.
This practice is both simple and profound—offering tools you can return to again and again during life’s most challenging moments. Whether you are navigating grief, stress, uncertainty, loss, or simply seeking greater peace and resilience, this class offers a space to reconnect with your own inner strength and remember the support that is always available within you.
Having called Crested Butte home for more than 30 years, this community holds a special place in Monica’s heart. It is where she raised her family, shared her life’s work, and where she experienced the loss of her son, Cheyne. Drawing from her own journey through grief after losing her son to suicide, Monica offers this practice with deep compassion for all who have been touched by suicide, mental health challenges, loss, or heartbreak.
In recent months, our Crested Butte community has experienced several heartbreaking losses to suicide. In a small town, these losses touch all of us: family members, friends, coworkers, classmates, neighbors, and the countless people whose lives become connected through shared grief. This evening is offered as a space of healing, connection, remembrance, and hope for anyone who has been impacted by these recent losses, by suicide at any time, by mental health challenges, or simply by the challenges of being human.
As we gather during a week that includes Juneteenth, a day honoring resilience, liberation, and the enduring strength of the human spirit, we come together to remember our own capacity to heal, support one another, and find light even in difficult times.
You will leave with practical tools you can return to whenever life feels challenging, and perhaps most importantly, a reminder that you are not alone. Within you lives a source of strength, peace, and wisdom that no circumstance can take away.
All proceeds benefit CB State of Mind and its important work supporting mental health, connection, and suicide prevention in our community.
