Yin
In Yin, poses are held for long periods of time (3-5 minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and bones. Benefits from this practice include: increased flexibility, improved circulation, enhanced joint mobility, stress reduction, deep relaxation, emotional awareness, better sleep, and promoting balance within the body's energy system. Each unique Thrive Yoga teacher's personal style varies; classes may incorporate slow-flowing warm-up movements, breathwork, and guided meditation.
Vinyasa
Vinyasa classes are an intermediate to strong moving flow classes that cultivate balance, stability, flexibility, and vigor. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and can be almost dance-like and classes consists of a series of poses that will teach you to coordinate with the flow of your breath. Breath awareness and coordination are carried throughout the practice as the asana ebbs and flows between effort and ease. Intensity levels & personal style varies by each unique Thrive Yoga teacher. Classes are still accessible to all level practitioners via the offering of modifications.
Therapeutic
Therapeutic Yoga uses a methodic application of sequences to unwind fascial patterns of holding and pain in the body. Much of the work is floor-based and passive, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy! This therapeutic style of yoga resets the nervous system, opens the joints, and releases patterns of restriction in the body, using long holds and specific alignment. This is an all-levels class and everybody—athletes, couch potatoes, young and old, will find this practice accessible and will benefit from it!
Stiff Men's Stretch
We ease into our time together with gentle stretching and mobility with a focus on syncing movement with breath, calming the nervous system, and increasing functional flexibility and range of motion. During the second portion of class, we enjoy an extended time of focused myofascial release with the aid of a foam roller and/or tennis ball, with the purpose of helping you feel better in your body, one stiff layer at a time. All are welcome in this place!
Sound Bath

Slow Flow & Yoga Nidra
This is a mindful, slower paced class that is meditative and emphasizes peace and calmness of body and mind. During the movement part of class poses are held for a longer period of time to teach principles of proper physical and energetic alignment. This means that you can plan on taking several rounds of breath in each pose.
Finish the practice with Yoga Nidra, a deep form of guided relaxation and meditation that heals and rejuvenates.
Open level classes are all levels classes that are great for yogis of all levels and abilities. These classes are suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Open level classes will offer alternative postures and modifications so that the pace and structure of the class are suitable for all bodies.
Slow Flow

Poses are held for a longer period of time to teach principles of proper physical and energetic alignment. This means that you can plan on taking several rounds of breath in each pose, instead of moving to each breath. The challenge in the class comes from holding postures for a longer period of time and the simultaneous steering of consciousness to the awareness of breath and movement. Breathing and mindfulness practices are taught in simpler sequences. Slow Flow is a great place to start if you are new to flow-style yoga or anyone wanting a methodically paced class that still emphasizes the connection between breath and movement.
Sculpt

This high-energy sculpt class integrates mindful movement with free weights and bodyweight exercises for a full-body workout that builds strength, tones muscles and increases endurance. Set to upbeat music, Sculpt is perfect for all levels, offering variations for beginners and challenges for those looking to expand their max. Expect to sweat, move and feel invigorated as you balance mind and body in this dynamic practice.
Restorative
Restorative yoga is a practice which utilizes props to create ease and comfort that facilitates relaxation in the body. A totally rejuvenating practice comprised of seated and supine poses, which are held for 3-15 minutes of time. Designed for all levels to promote deep relaxation, muscle recovery, and overall health.
Reiki & Restore
Restorative Yoga is a very relaxed practice which utilizes props to support, open and create ease in the body. A totally rejuvenating practice comprised of seated postures and supported inversions, which are held for longer periods of time to allow for deep relaxation in the postures. Restorative is designed for all levels and may include breath work, guided meditations and an extended savasana.
Throughout the class, Kaitlin will ask, with each pose, if you would like hands on with Reiki; think soft, gentle, supported, nurturing and peaceful aid for allowing a deeper inner experience in class.
Kaiut
The Kaiut method is a biomechanical yoga practice designed by Francisco Kaiut to serve the modern body and modern mind. This format is intended to increase freedom of movement. Francisco Kaiut’s method is deeply influenced by his professional practice as a chiropractor and his education in craniosacral and polarity therapies, deep tissue massage, and hatha yoga. The Kaiut Method works from the joints to maintain and return the body to an optimal structure and function allowing the internal systems to function as efficiently as possible, for as long as possible. By focusing on the joints as opposed to stretching the muscles, practitioners can work with the cause behind the symptom. This is an inclusive method, using simple shapes to create a format of yoga accessible to all practitioners regardless of flexibility, strength, age, or experience.
Iyengar
Iyengar yoga focuses on precise body alignment, the use of props to help students of all abilities perform the asanas, and an understanding of the therapeutic potential of yoga. The asanas build strength, flexibility, stamina, balance and aid in stress reduction. Postures are held for longer periods of time in order to cultivate control of the breath, concentration, and inward self study.
Feldenkrais Method
The Feldenkrais Method is a self discovery process done through movement. Its aim is to produce an individual organized to perform with maximum efficiency and minimum effort. Awareness through movement classes lead people through a series of movements that are simple, gentle, exploratory, pleasant, and fun. The movements are designed to help clarify functions in the body (i.e. breathing, reaching, bending, or something more complex).
Breathwork
Breathwork involves conscious, controlled breathing patterns designed to improve mental, emotional, and physical health. Manipulating the breath's rate and depth helps stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system which reduces stress and improves focus and relaxation.

Barre is one of the best ways to tone and strengthen the entire body. By using small, controlled movements, isometric holds and high repetition you will develop a strong, lean and toned physique in no time!
