Your breath gives you control over your state of mind and your body’s chemistry. Working with your breath can be a transformational practice that reduces stress and anxiety, help to overcome trauma, regulate your nervous system and provide an overall sense of well-being and relaxation.
I will give a full description of what you might expect before we start the practice. It is important to me that you are fully aware of what class will look like and that you know you are in full control of your experience. You will get out of the practice what you are willing to put into it.
I teach circular breath-work or conscious, connected breathing that involves breathing through the mouth in a circular pattern. We will breathe in this way actively for close to 30 minutes or about 6-8 songs. After the active breathing is complete, you will have plenty of time to reflect and be with yourself.
What to bring:
- Comfortable clothing that isn’t too tight
- Water bottle, as hydration is important
- An open mind
- A Journal for after class if you wish
We can provide these if you do not bring your own:
- Yoga Mat
- Blanket (body temperature can fluctuate during breathwork)
- Bolster
- Eye Pillow
