DESCRIPTION:In this class celebrating the autumnal equinox we will focus on the timely themes of transformation and release. \nThe Kundalini practice integrates our eternal\, infinite selves with our bodily\, material selves. We will use a combination of pranayama (breathwork)\, kriyas (dynamic actions for a specific purpose)\, meditation\, and mantras which help direct the mind into positivity. \nWhile we chant a mantra\, the subconscious mind releases its garbage—all that we’ve unknowingly accumulated—allowing us to then come into greater presence with ourselves. The intention is to come into union with our essential Selves.  \nDuring the practice we are “purified” with both demanding and easeful exercises\, relaxation\, silent meditation and mantra vocalizations. DESCRIPTION:Date changed from 2/9 to 2/16 \nIn this workshop we will move slowly through a two hour practice based on the principles of therapeutic yoga – using a methodic application of sequences to unwind fascial patterns of holding and pain in the body. \nMuch of the work is floor-based and passive\, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy! This therapeutic style of yoga resets the nervous system\, opens the joints\, and releases patterns of restriction in the body\, using long holds and specific alignment. This is an all-levels class\, and everybody – athletes\, couch potatoes\, young and old\, will find this practice accessible and will benefit from it. \nThis method works deeply with the joints\, to return the body to its optimal structure and function\, thereby allowing the internal systems to work as efficiently as possible for as long as possible – anti-aging yoga from the inside out.
